Founded in January 2015, Western’s Centre for Educational Leadership was developed in response to the growing concern from the education sector and emerging research educational leaders require additional support in their roles. The Centre recognizes that the role of leadership in any organizations is essential for any kind of change, improvement and reform. The current education sector is facing a principal shortage in a time of work intensification and lack of professional support.
The Centre’s primary objective is to support aspiring, new and experienced educational leaders by acknowledging their current work environment and providing meaningful professional learning opportunities.
The Centre’s primary function is to connect applied educational research with practice in an effort to reduce the research-use gap through timely research and knowledge mobilization to improve student achievement.
